Assessments Assessment provides a way for students to demonstrate what they have learned in relation to the academic content standards, which then allows teachers and districts to report student progress. Assessments also indicate what students need to do in order to improve performance and shows teachers what they must do in order to enhance classroom instruction and help meet student learning goals prescribed by the standards.
